MCAT study question

Hi,

I am studying for the August MCAT and have yet to do a diagnostic (I still have to review orgo). I wanted to save most of the actual practice MCAT exams (ie) 3R, 4R etc. for closer to the exam date. Should I just use one of these as my first diagnostic, or should I use another one (I've got an exam crakers diagnostic and also the Kaplan and Gold Standard prep books)?

Thanks,

ez

I would use one of the AAMC published ones as these are the closest you'd get to the real thing.

In my view, the only way you can realistically assess your skill level is by taking a test that closely resembles a real MCAT. I've seen a few Kaplan tests and thought they were a little above the standard, which is fine considering that they expect a greater knowledge level after studying in their course. Besides, the purpose of the diagnostic is to help you guage where you stand on the MCAT scale right?

I'm following the EK home study schedule, and they suggest 4R as the diagnostic.
