Hi I had a question, I was wondering what courses to take are good prep for dentistry.

Is taking general chemistry, biology sufficient?

Would taking physiology, genetics, antomy or organic chemistry help on the DAT.

How do you prepare for the perceptual portion of the DAT.

Thank You.

Hi

I didn't do much studying for the DAT, I just bought the prep kit from the CDA and just use some old text to study. Of course, you can also buy those prep books or even taking prep course, but I don't think it is necessary. Beside DAT scores only weight 15-20% on your application, mainly on your GPA.

Good luck

The best prep for the DAT is to buy a prep book...I used Kaplan's DAT book (not very expensive), studied for 2 weeks and did well. As was said before, your GPA is very important, so keep that up. Don't take hard courses thinking they'll help you on the DAT, that's what prep books are for.

I have my DAT prep book which I'd be willing to sell for very little (along with whatever else I have...some soap carving stuff), let me know if you're interested (oldexams@yahoo.ca)
