Hey bundleofgreen: Congrats on your acceptances!

I'm very interested in Maryland, but they seem to rarely accept internationals from the AAMC report that only 6 are currently enrolled in their entire medical school. I was wondering if you have any personal ties with the school or city, or any other helpful info?

No, I don't have any connection to Maryland other than that I live close by. However, my undergrad school (in the u.s.) has a good connection with Maryland. They're an amazing school though.

I'm currently attending a Canadian undergrad, but in your experience, how disadvantaged do you think Canadian undergrads are compared to US citizens or undergrads (but Canadian) at schools like Maryland and Einstein? Thanks.

Hey, I'm really not an expert on this. I've only met a total of 2 canadian students on my interviews, both from UofT. I met more international students with undergrad degrees here though. That being said, each school's different. Find out which schools have accepted someone from your school AND your program before AND that person is doing well there. Aim for those schools, then you have a good chance. GL

If you don't see someone getting accepted to a school here. Chances are they don't accept Canadians. Even if they do, its either because they

1) did a SMP and have linkage with the school

2) they have significant ties with the state/school

3) have dual citizenship
