AMCAS application

Hi all!

Just a quick question about the course work section of the AMCAS application. When does your final calculated GPA appear? Is it after the verification process? or is it supposed to occur as soon as you've entered your course work? If the latter is supposed to happen, then i'm having problems because I've entered my course work, but nothing in terms of AMCAS grades has appeared??

Perhaps one of you experts could help me! or at least clarify the issue!

Thanks,

Once you log on, there's a list on the left hand side of the screen. Just under the "course work" heading, there should be a link called "Grade Point Average". Your GPA should be automatically calculated once you enter in your coursework.

Ahhh... see... that is what i thought, but nothing is happening? as of right now my GPA reads 0 and I have entered all my course work... I wonder if it has something to do with the program counting all my credits as supplemental hours instead of semester hours... is it possible to change this somehow?

Hey there! I had the exact same problem! AMCAS has had a lot of problems with grades not being converted over for several schools (esp. Canadian schools). When I submitted my application my gpa also said zero. After they processed and checked over my aplication they filled my gpa and everything in for me. So in other words, don't worry about it - just submit it and they'll do the rest! Hope that helps!

Uh...I wouldn't be sending my application in with the GPA saying zero! Starbrightcp, I think you've identified your problem about the semester hours...unfortunately you'll have to go through all the courses again and change the hours. Try to fix one and then see if it works before changing them all. Don't trust AMCAS to do your work for you b/c the more they need to fix, the longer your application will take to process.

not necessarily - I didn't enter any semester hours (b/c I wasn't sure of the conversions for my school). They did everything for me and my application was processed w/in three days of them receiving my application.
