too late for rolling apps?

I submitted my AMCAS app at the end of Sept. It was processed just a couple days ago and now I'm working on a bunch of secondary appns.

I had chosen 16 schools originally, but now I'm worried that I might not have much of a chance because of the rolling application process. Is this too late to apply (even though I haven't missed deadlines)? Should I be pretty selective about the secondary apps (I've sent in about four so far) and save myself the time and the money? How strong of an applicant am I at this stage?

Hi Chieka101,

I sent in my AMCAS application last year at the same time I sent in my applications for the Ontario schools (around Oct 15). I had just made the deadlines for some schools. I ended up receiving a few interviews and got accepted to a couple of schools there. So...that being said, you are not too late. I would recommend finishing your secondaries as soon as you can and sending them off. However, because it is late in the year, you might not get the same number of interviews that you would have gotten, had you applied earlier.

In terms of being selective about which secondaries you send in...in my opinion, if you have the time (and money) to send them all in, then go for it. If not, then I would not apply to schools which accept very few out of state applicants. But try for them all if you can.

As an applicant, I think you are fine. But, there is no way to tell who will get in and who will not. As its been said before, people will higher stats than you have been rejected and people with lower stats have been accepted.

Good luck with everything!

If the scores don't change, historically that MCAT and GPA should be enough for an interview at UWO. . . did you apply to the Canadian schools as well?

Don't worry about not having extracurrics & volunteer activities in *science.* Seems like lots of applicants get too caught up in that. . . but schools are looking for a diverse group of students.

Good Luck!
