What do u guys do about reference letters?

One of my referees is leaving the country soon and another does not have time to prep a letter for each school I am applying to. They are both willing to leave a bunch of "generic" letters in envelopes for me, however, do most US schools have their own standardized forms? Which ones don't? Thanks a lot.

Hi Jazz,

Over the course of completing thirteen secondaries, I've only seen one that asks for any sort of form to accompany a reference letter: USC-Keck. Even then, your letter writer need not fill it out; it simply contains your AMCAS ID# and name, and helps the school sort and file your letters more efficiently.

Regarding schools that don't require unique reference letters or forms they include, at least: Yale, Baylor, Dartmouth, U. Connecticut, Michigan State, Saint Louis, Tulane, Chicago-Pritzker, Weill-Cornell, U. Penn, Albert Einstein, Johns Hopkins and Harvard.

Cheers,

Kirsteen

Hi Jazz,

Yeah what Kirsteen said. I had my referees give me a bunch of sealed letters, so that way I can take care of it. Another option you have is using the interfolio service...Kirsteen knows more about that one.
