Guest pinkbonkers
Hi, I was wondering whether the American schools place more emphasis on the MCATs as opposed to your GPA. I mean, say a person had a 3.8 gpa but then only had a 29-30 MCATs?
Guest moo
Your GPA is pretty good and your MCAT is decent. I think if you have a high MCAT and low GPA or vice versa will schools raise a red flag. However as long as your GPA/MCATs kind of correspond then you shouldn't worry too much. With that said schools generally value both equally.
Guest thesaug
I think due to the shear number of colleges/programs available for students in the U.S., medical schools do not really know how to compare GPAs against one another, so therefore they put more emphasis on the MCAT then here in Canada as its a standardized test.
