Are there any American schools that do not require 3 faculty references?

or in other words, schools that want maybe 1 or 2 faculty references and 1 personal or employer reference?

None that I know of. You could contact individual schools and ask specifically if it's OK to replace one letter with an employer letter, but I think you'll run into some difficulty.

They require 3 faculty referees.

I'll have to check out specifically the schools I want to apply to, and if that is the case, 3 faculty referees, I would have to wait until next year to apply. At this moment, I only know 1 faculty member that could right me letter.

See, next year, I would rack up another two after completing a research project as part of an honors degree.

I guess I'll have to figure this out...
