<pagetext>Hi,

I have a new publication and was wondering if I can notify Calgary about it at this point?

Thanks,

Hi there,

Good timing! Just this week, I received the date on which an upcoming publication that had not been included in my original application would be published. I sent a note in to Calgary asking if it could be included in my file and although they offered hearty congratulations, they said that no new items may be included in the file at this point. :)

Congratulations on your publication! :D

<title>All in the family...</title>

<pagetext>There's an interesting discussion on the UWO forum that characterizes the closeness and family-like nature of their group as causing some occasional strife: cliques and gossip.

I recently interviewed in Calgary and was so impressed by the friendliness of all the students there to greet us. From the sounds of it the class does so much together socially and academically. It really felt like a "family" out there to me (with someone even saying Adele is the "mom" of the department).

Do any of you Calgary students find that the closeness of your program (or the segregation from the rest of the University) ever leads to cliques or gossing??

I'm not that worried... I'm just curious about the shadier side of medical school ;) I would hope that by eliminating most of the competitiveness (with pass/fail) that most of the interpersonal strife would be eliminated.
