Guest Kirsteen
Hey there, So now that the interviews are complete (the last one was yesterday, I believe) how did you all find them? On this end, comparing the UofC interview to the UBC, I found the UofC to be a little more stressful. The UBC questions seemed pretty standard, as did the questions from the UofC medical student, but the questions from the UofC doctor were wild. :eek How about essay topics--what did you guys face this year? My day's topic surrounded selecting an artist to do my portrait--who would I choose and why. Yousuf Karsh, the Canadian portrait photographer, was my portrait guy. Thankfully, this one was fun to write. Speaking of the essay, I received some interesting info from Calgary Admissions regarding the final selection process and how the essay is used. Apparently we're compared to everyone else again on the original six criteria (MCAT, GPA, employment, etc.), but we're also compared on the on-site essay and interview reports. Additionally, the on-site essay and interview reports are weighted more heavily than the original six criteria during the final selection process. Good luck everyone!
