Hello all,

 

Wow, things have been quiet around here lately - I guess all you Ontarians are busy with OMSAS applications.

 

If anyone has any questions about UofC, the program, the city, the application etc. be sure to let us know. Us first years have been in classes for 6 weeks or so now (already written our first exam) and so have a pretty good idea of how things work.

There are a couple of wee details surrounding the U. Calgary admissions process on which I'm hoping you guys can shed some light.

 

1) I realize that the academic cut-off for out-of-province applicants is higher than that for in-province applicants, but is that cut-off adequate for slimming the pool of out-of-province applicants down to a number that is manageable for interviewing? If not, does U. Calgary employ some other sort of selection process pre-interview for out-of-province applicants other than the standard review by the 2 or 3 reviewers?

 

2) Post-interview, how does U. Calgary determine who is offered a seat? Is a formula used employing a variable for interview or essay score, or could some sort of holistic review be in process?
