Guest Kirsteen
Hi there, I saw it listed in some Calgary curriculum information. I'm assuming it's the program that's common to most first year medical programs, that teaches you the hands-on aspects of clinical medicine, i.e., how to conduct patient interviews and perform tests. At some schools, one afternoon per week in first year is commonly set aside for this type of training. I was just wondering how many days/afternoons/mornings per week are devoted to this at Calgary? It would be nice to know now, but if nothing else, I guess we'll find out in a scant three weeks or so, when classes begin. Guest phantom8
The Medical Skills program in Calgary is made up of 5 different units - 1. communications (history taking), 2. physical examination, 3. ethics, 4. Well Physician and 5. Culture, Health and Wellness. Generally a 1/2 day a week is devoted to Med Skills.
