Missing class

I've got the opportunity to present my project from 4th year/summer at a conference in October. I'm wondering whether it would be possible to miss 2-3 days of classes without getting too far behind. Any opinions? For undergrad I'd go without a second thought but I don't know what first year med school will be like.
