field course = research?

i was wondering if a field course which you are helping a prof conduct his/her research, also we are able to conduct our own research if applicable.

 

i was just wondering since this is a course, would it also be classified as research/research experience.

I want to take a field course next year, but I really don't think it would classify as research/experience that you would put place in a differently on the application due to the fact that you earn a credit in the course.
