well the thing is that i took electronics engineering and have worked at it for 6 years and realize that i no longer want anything to do with it.. so looking at the whole med thing, and since i have worked in Florida for the past few yrs i dont really want to come back to Canada and freeze my butt off all over again lol... so just trying to figure out which is the best path to take...

what are the costs here in canada ? average.. and is it much harder to get in here?

The cost of Canadian med school tuition ranges from $6000CDN/yr to $18,000CDN/yr depending on the school and your country/province of residence. I believe that UofT is the most expensive (someone correct me if I'm wrong), and McGill is the least expensive if you are a Quebec resident. I'm asssuming you have Canadian citizenship (if not, you may have to pay international meds tuition fees at some schools, which can more). I don't have an exact number for the average tuition cost for medical school in Canada, but I would say that it's close to $14,000/yr. With regards to admissions, it is MUCH harder to get into a Canadian med school than an American one. However, if you manage to get into both, I personally would suggest choosing the Canadian one because freezing your butt off is well worth the saving$$$!

It depends on the school you're going to.

The website of the schools you're interested in should have info regarding tuition.

Also, in the US... if you're a citizen/permanent resident, I do believe it's a cheaper than if you were a Canadian.

I don't mean to hi-jack this thread or anything, but since we are talking about US med schools, does anyone know how to pay for US secondary applications? I am in the process of sending them in and some require checks or money orders. Would they accept checks (in US funds of course) from Canadian Banks (i.e. Canada Trust) ?
