TimmyMax Posted October 20, 2006 Report Share Posted October 20, 2006 Hey, I don't have any firsthand experience, but the big news during the CaRMS tours last year was that their IM program was on probation and in danger of losing its accreditation with the Royal College. Seeing as how in Anaesthesia, we do a number of rotations within the various IM departments, this threat carried potentially serious repercussions to Anaesthesia as well as a number of other programs. I haven't heard anything else since then, but then again, a ton of programs are put on probation every year and it is relatively uncommon for programs that are "mainstream" (IE: IM, paeds, OB/GYN, etc.) to lose their accreditation completely.
