AGPA question...

Recommended Posts

I'm applying from McGill which uses a letter-system in which there's no A+s. Anything over 85 is considered an A, which is 4.0.

When converting my McGill GPA to Manitoba AGPA, will McGill's As be considered A+ or A?!

Thanks!

Does McGill indicate the final percentage on your transcript? Is so, the Fac. of Med. will use that to convert to our scale, otherwise you should probabyl e-mail and check.

I talked with the admissions at U of M...they stated that an A(which at my school is a 93-100%) is considered a 4.0, and I won't get any 4.5's because my school doesn't apply percentages to final grades even though it is in the course sylibi. Though they did ask for the sylibi for a bunch of my classes(I go to school in the US) so that they could evaluate the course so perhaps they will see what an A and what a B is for these courses, but I'm not counting on it.

My advice is to contact Jody at admissions and ask her how they will convert these letter grades and see what they can do.
