How to fill out CV

When filling out the CV should you just put the activity

 

ie Sept2000-May2003 XXX Club President

 

or put in a description of your responsibilities as well

 

ie Sept2000-May2003 XXX Club President

- responsible for this, that and the other thing

 

 

 

The McGill web site says submit a "standard CV" and mine typically include details of my responsibilities, but this makes it pretty tight for space.

 

Any insight would be helpful.

We had dealt with a comment similar to yours. Many people do not have the correct information and are not going to give you the wrong advice.

I just used my old resume..... did you guys put scholarship? it seems like a scholarship section is pointless in my opinion... what do you guys think?

i hope they aren't big on the formatting of the CV....i was just going to list activities, dates, and avery brief description of my responsiblities. something like the ottawa sketch.

 

does this sound reasonable?

I also did pretty much the same thing...briefly listed all the activities and gave descriptions... I includded my major awards and publications as well...

I emailed all my stuff in on Sunday. I ended up including brief descriptions of my employment and full time volunteer projects. The rest I just listed, due to lack of space. I included scholarships and awards.

 

I think the descriptions are a bit redundant since much of it is already in my essay, but I had the space so I figured why not.
