I went to prep101 sessions for my first year chem, physics, and math.

They offered 6hrs of sessions. I highly doubt that the instructures knew the materials thoroughly. It was the greatest waste of money ever since I came to the university. Really, those testimonials are not to be trusted :( (the sessions were such a waste of time and money - I thought those students were PAID to make fake testimonials)

As for the booklets they gave out to the students, it wasn't THAT bad honestly. But it is still much better to just go to the lectures, do all the assigned text-book questions, and try out the past exams. That way, you can save lots of money and still get good marks. Those prep sessions for undergrad courses aren't as good as they say on their adverstisement.

Hello,

New to the site. It's been more than 10 years since i took chem/phys so i was thinking of taking a prep course.

Just wondering if anyone has tried the prep101 MCAT prep course at U of T? (Someone else asked the question back in Nov/2006 but no response, so i thought i would try again).

Thanks.

I went to an intro session for them, specifically for the MCAT prep course BY one of the guys who "created" the MCAT program (he's in meds at UofT right now). He also said that it was him and another student who designed the MCAT course.... so that's only input by 2 people, take that as you will.

I wasn't impressed at all, he didn't have any current stats to support his claims (his stats were years old), he didn't know any of the current GPA cutoffs and he was pretty unorganized in his presentation. I might make the leap to assume that this reflects the quality of his "course" as well.

Just my 2 cents.
