I was rejected pre-interview by Toronto and waitlisted by Queen's (which I'll be taking my name off of).

 

A note for those of you who are still waiting on the waitlist....

 

If you don't happen to get in this year, please don't get down on yourselves. You are likely more qualified than many people who actually got in...it's a crapshoot. Don't let the scores given to you by 3 strangers in a 30-minute chat affect the way you look at yourselves. Stay positive...everything seems to happen in life for a reason.

Hi all,

 

After what I believed to be my worst interview by far and writing Western off completely as a result (it was my first choice), I have actually been accepted!

 

I will, of course, be accepting the offer!

 

MCAT: 36S (13PS/13BS/10VR)

GPA (last 2 years): 3.93

 

No nobel prizes, trips to foreign countries, cancer cures, research or publications...however, I do have an impressive collection of rejection letters from previous years

 

This is my second time applying to Western ( missed the cutoff last year by one point) and my SIXTH application to med school ( I applied to Mac 4 times before deciding to give up and write the MCAT). Stupid I know...

 

Moral of the Story: If medicine is what you want, keep trying!!!

Received an acceptance offer this morning... I think.. seems so unreal.

 

34R, 3.89 GPA and no significant volunteer experience... although I did build a medical station in Africa using recycled Q-tips and crazy glue.

I was waitlisted there last summer, it was my first choice, and it didn't work out. I didn't think I did that great in the interview this year and was trying not to rank my schools. But omgosh! I open up my inbox and it's an acceptance!

GPA: 3.72 OMSAS total...best two years around 3.84 or so.

just so everyone knows my highest GPA prior to getting accepted this year was 3.72! I got 3.80 this year but it didn't really matter....so interview IS key...I also scored 12 on VR section of mcat which likely helped a little.
