Der Kaiser
At Brock anything over 80 is considered 4.0 just like at Western. I was just verified today and my 80+ grades were 4.0 (AMCAS). I will keep you updated re: AACOMAS.

advair250
This pleases me greatly. Lame, a bit unfair but oh well, only a few %. The saying "if you can walk and talk, you can go to brock" comes to mind

The saying "if you can walk and talk, you can go to brock" comes to mind Funny saying, but differences between schools seem to be more department and prof dependent. For instance, Brock's English dept. it can be almost impossible to get an A depending on the prof. I've also been told that people take orgo at UofT to avoid ours. A rumour but our orgo is pretty crazy (maybe it's crazy everywhere I don't know, I do know that looking up practice exams online and our exams were def way harder). On the other hand a couple of classes come to mind where I could not believe how little I had to work for an A+. Point: not sure were much different than UWO. Der Kaiser
What is the AMCAS scale for UBC and SFU? My guess would be A is 4.0 then A- is 3.7, etc. Brock and UWO are weird because they do not have + or - on their grades (only B,C,A,etc. no A+ or A-). Just avoid getting your transcript evaluated through WES (or other service) would be my guess (AACOMAS looks at the legend on your transcript, WES might use the OMSAS legend). My OMSAS gpa is 3.69. My AACOMAS gpa is 3.79! Sweet.

Sorry, but 80+ is a 4.0 at Queens according to AMCAS. I think they probably used Scale 1 though, since Queens themselves use that scale also. Do you know where i could look to verify this? thanks in advance!!
Innovo
Would anyone happen to know the AMCAS scale for University of Alberta? It seems all of these Scales are way better than what we have. An A- here is 83-

lefty07
Hey, I just came across this thread & am kind of confused about the GPA conversions. Looking at the bottom chart in this document: https://www.aamc.org/students/download/181676/data/amcas_grade_conversion_guide.pdf, it says for Canadian schools 4.0 = 87-100, 80-86, etc. Does this mean it's a new policy or am I missing something? I go to UWO & according to what people have said in this thread, 80+ is 4.0. What does this chart mean?

writergirl333
anyone know what's the latest on queen's grade conversion? It looks like an 80 to 85 is now an A- ?
Mistable
Is the conversion done course by course and then averaged after the conversion; same as OMSAS?

CoolBeans
Question: Do I do the conversion myself? Or do they do it for me? i.e. Do I enter what exactly is on my transcript?
indefatigable
I think you enter your grades and it does the conversion - both A and A+ move to A (4.0)

I attend York University and an 80-89 is an A - is that a 4.0 or a 3.7 now?
