phulmayaa
Hi all, I am wondering if someone currently in Med School at UBC or are planning to apply in the near future have been in or are currently in the Integrated Sciences Program. Is there any question about this program when applying to med school? This is a fairly new and perhaps unrecognized way to go about doing a Science major so I'm hoping it would not turn out to be a disadvantage for me. Any thoughts? Pros/cons? Thanks in advance! D-Rock
Integrated sciences was new when I started my second year back in 1999. It's a fine thing to do if you are interested in integrating different areas of science, which is better for a graduate research plan than medicine, in my opinion. There are several people in my med class that did ISP. You won't really get a plus or a minus for doing it, but it might let you take all sorts of classes that will help you in med school (ANAT, PATH, etc.)
kgmed23
the choice of your degree doesn't really influence your application. So if you like ISP then you may choose to continue on with it since it will have no bearing on your medical school application.
