jjacob
Just wondering if anyone could help me out. early in my undergrad (before med was an option) I took some bio/chem/eng courses that are actually part of the med prereqs....these grades are quite bad actually (C+ to . If i repeat them now, there is no doubt I can get a better grade, but I've heard a lot of places only look at initial attempt. Anyone had the same problems ? any ideas. Thanks. a41
The point of taking classes is to learn, not to get high marks. You'd only be wasting time by retaking a course that you've already passed. I'm not even sure if you'd be allowed to do this. Just take higher level classes and do better in those to show the schools that you are capable.
jjacob
yeah, i agree 100%. it would be a shame to repeat the courses that I passed...however I'm just wondering if logistically since some schools take your specific prereq course avg into consideration for admission, how this would impact my application, or better yet how anyone in a similar situation has overcome this problem.
