wisdom_tooth
Okay, my kaplan instructor was awesome and kind enough to provide us with a marking scheme example. Now the title reads Carving Marking Scheme for Carving #7. So this is only an example of one carving design, I don't know the exact design but from the marking you can get an idea what the design consists of. Sorry I'd scan it but I don't have a scanner. So here is the break down (the numbers to the right tell you what each is worth): General Broken soap 0 (means you get an automatic 0) Wrongly interpreted 0 (means you get an automatic 0) Incompletely carved -20 (negative markdown) Severe chipping* -15 (negative markdown) Symmetry (on the right plan) 0.5 Orientation (distances from each other) 0.5 Middle: 1 trough 1. Depth= 5 mm 2 2. Length= 30 mm 2 3. Line angles= 90 2 4. Smoothness of floor and walls 1 *Any minor chipping not accounted for before -4 (negative markdown) Right end (flutes and square) 1. Square dimensions= 8mm 4 2. Dimensions of the flute=25 mm 4 3. is the square centered? 2 4. Smoothness of flutes and their inclines 4 *Any minor chipping not accounted for before -4 (negative markdown) Left end (2 triangles) 1. Depths=5, 6, 5 mm 2 2. Distance between the wall and apex of the triangle= 14 mm 2 3. Line angles= 90 2 4. Smoothness of floor and walls 2 *Any minor chipping not accounted for before -4 (negative markdown) Final mark: /30 I hope this gives you an idea of how they mark the soap.
