meggoz
Hi everyone I'm new here =). I apologize if this question has been asked before. Perhaps someone would be so kind enough to answer this question for me or direct me to the correct thread? I'm just wondering, do med schools frown upon 6 years of undergrad? And say if they had two candidates, would they prefer the student with 6 years of undergrad with a stellar OMSAS GPA (say best two years) or the student with the Master's (with so so grades) who went to grad school? Thanks.

Thanks. Each school will have a different set of criteria. Having a masters will help your application and you will not be disadvantaged at all just because you've done 6 years of undergrad. However, if you have spread the courseload of 4 years out to 6 years, then your grades may not be elligible for the weighing forumulas of some schools. On the other hand, if you've done 6 years with full course loads each year, then you're good to go just like any other undergrad.
