vitegeist
I'm a 3rd year UBC student and we have an informal 2 week elective in our clerkship year. I'd like to spend mine in May with an ER doc in Montreal (CCFP or FRCPC). Can anyone recommend a good preceptor or hospital placement? Thanks! Satsuma
If anyone also has info (good, bad and the ugly) about emerg electives at U of T and MAC, I would love to hear about it, so I can be as informed as possible when arranging my 4th year electives. Thanks Sats
CutieYellow
I can only answer for Montreal. Depends what kind of ER experience you`re looking for - The Montreal General hospital is one where all the traumas go - so if you`re interested in that, then MGH it is. If you are looking for a fast pace, and really busy ER, then the Jewish General Hospital could be good for you. The JGH is a big hospital, lots of things to learn and see. If you`re looking for a smaller community hospital, where it`s still busy, but just not as crazy as the JGH, then you could try for St-Mary`s hospital. SMH is a smaller ER, which means that sometimes, occasionally, attendings have time to teach. Good luck in your search. CY
