theyab
Hey all, I'm currently studying in a US system university, with my first year GPA being 3.03, which is a B. I'm (if accepted) transferring to Ottawa this fall, so my following years shouldn't be an issue. However, in my university, a B is 83%+, which seems to be an A- (3.7 GPA) by most Canadian university standards. When I apply to med school, is there any way of getting my GPA converted to Canadian standards, or will my GPA from my current university still stand? Thanks
Jochi1543
I went to uni in the US as well. Your GPA will remain the same, at least if your transcript only shows letter grades, like mine, no percentages.
theyab
I think it's worth noting that i'm not IN the US, i'm in an American university outside of North America, in the United Arab Emirates. If my transcript shows the grading distribution of my university, would that make a difference? Would the WES conversion path make any difference? It is after all quite a huge difference between a 3.03 and a 3.7. I'm not too worried as this is just my first year and I know I can raise it with much better years (had a difficult transition between high school and uni), but it would definitely help a bunch if the GPA changed.
