CDA Interview Guide

Recommended Posts

  • 1 year later...

because its ALL a bunch of BS....

its like me writing a manual about getting into a US dental school.....and then specializing.......just because i graduated and am now in pedo....that automatically makes me eligible to start writing books and charging pre-dental students???? My situation is not the same as others, so there is not one sure way of doing things

Ive said it before, but this guy is a total scam artist.....a 2nd year dental student writing a book on how to interview just because he got into dental school on his 2nd time and all of a sudden he is Deepak Chopra?

gimme a break

i wouldn't say that this person is scamming or anything. i think a friend of mine bought this book last year and did find them useful and did end up getting multiple acceptances. however, buying this book won't warrant anything. this book is just an aid for interview prep. people may or may not find it useful...so purchase at your own risk.

itz like studying for DAT when you buy KAPLAN DAT books etc..those kaplan books don't and will not warrant a high DAT score, but students do find it useful to help them prepare for the real thing..

Dr.BadVibes, i do get a bad vibe from your posts, i guess you picked the right screen name for premed101 forums.

lol this never gets too old.. always funny..

anyways... I e-mailed the top star interview people.. and they are recommending the 'combo pack.' I read on the top star site that this is a general "pre-health professions school interview preparation package," which is not what I am looking for... I am looking for something specific to the Canadian Dental Association's standardized interview that I can only imagine being unique from the pharmacy, and optometry school interview processes...

Has anyone found any CDA-specific resources?

@ Contach

LOL I wrote the books for topstar (my company). The books were written for the CDA interview but other professions have started copying it since it works well. So yeah while it says pharmacy etc etc I don't think I've ever sold a single book to people applying to those professions, however people who bought it for dental school have used it for them.

I wonder what he tells pharmacy students

Straight from TopStar's "official" website:

"Alexander Wishart is a current dental student at Dalhousie University and holds a degree in biochemistry from the University of New Brunswick and a master's degree in pharmacology from Dalhousie University. He has published in world renound research journals such as the Journal of Biological Chemistry. After completing his master's degree, rather than pursuing a career in the pharmaceudial industry he came to realize his true passion was found in helping patients and he applied to dental school."

Hmmm.......what a professional website.....seems like Alex and his TopStar "team" could've done a degree in English as well, eh ;)

Yah....i really wanna hand over my hard earned money to these guys....seems like a great buy!

Oh yah....for everyone's information....for every private message I get about applying to US dental schools, I now charge $10 for every reply. You can pay via PayPal to DrBadVibes@ilikestealingstudentsmoney.com

Thanks Dr Bad Vibes I was going to hire someone to edit my webpage but seems you've done it for me and saved me some cash. Listen since you edited my page I tried sending the money to your paypal account but it won't work for some reason - you should get that looked at. Typos are an easy fix, 4 years of ****ing around in undergrad and having to go to school at Temple cause no Canadian school would accept you isn't such an easy fix. Have fun paying back the 300K. :D

I don't come to the dentistry threads often, but that as worth it. pwnt.

Interesting.....Last time I checked my student financial aid bills, my total debt is $95K....dont know where you got the $300K from....I think you got it confused with my future salary

but your right.....Im so sad that I didnt get into a Canadian dental school with my 2.9 GPA...instead I got into a dental school at the age of 23.....got into a specialty program and now spend my days lying on a beach in Malibu, California in constant 30 degree weather while reading pediatric dentistry textbooks, getting job offers for $300K/yr and sobbing about how I didnt have a chance in a Canadian dental school so I could make weekend trips to PEI

darn........shouldnt have ****ed around so much in undergrad.....

P.S. Im glad that I was able to save you some cash....now perhaps you can start sharing your knowledge from your "extensive" research about CDA interviews to predental students for free instead of ripping them off........but Ill admit.....you'd think that someone with your amazing intellect wouldnt take English advice from someone like me who had a measly 2.9GPA.....i applaud you.

wow... a fight!!!!

i can't believe how immature you guys are considering you are all in dent schools just awaiting to "serve and take care" of your future patients.

@CDAInterviewBook. just ignore Dr.BadVibe, it will just tire you up. And i really don't think it is appropriate to advertise your book here considering it is written for a company. (maybe second-handed stuff is okay)

@Dr.BadVibes. go take a hike and chill yourself instead of picking fight in this forum. you are studying pediatric dentistry? then try having a thoughtful mind before you post stuff. if parents saw your posts, i wonder who the heck would trust their kids with you.

I think this thread has run its course. I don't foresee any more productive conversation occuring.

FYI, at this time, we do not allow commercial sales of products on the forums. Perhaps this will change in the future, but not at this time.
