2nd Writing of the MCAT

Hello!

I'm thinking about writing the MCAT again this summer, but I'll only have 2 months to do it. Is it possible to brush up on everything and be ready realistically to do well in 2 months, if I've already written it once?

My first time writing the MCAT, I completely bombed the bio section. I did okay in physics (I know I can do well here with a little effort), and did great in verbal and WS. What's the best way to study bio for a non-science major? I was overwhelmed with all the material studying it for the first time in the summer, especially o-chem, even though I've taken o-chem before.

Any ideas? Thanks! :D

Two months? I doubt it.

Take the proper amount of time, really drill the bio into your head, and be prepared. There's no point to retake the test if you won't be in a much better position than you were when you last wrote. For someone lacking the science background, two months doesn't sound like nearly enough time to me.

Yeah, you are probably right. How long do you think it would take to drill it all in? I really cannot afford more than 2 months to study, barely even that, but I was thinking of reviewing the material a little bit everyday, on the side, for a few months before, and then studying intensely for 1-2 months.

I focused on ExamKrackers for bio a lot last time, and I found it helped with the basics but it was definitely not enough. I also used Princeton Review quite comprehensively, but I found all the information in it slightly overwhelming and I'm not sure how useful it was. Do you have any recommendations for a good MCAT bio study guide? Thanks!

I was in basically the same situation as you in regards to bio. I'm a psych major, I have never taken orga (yay no prereqs for Ontario schools!), and I did bio three years ago and barely remembered any of it.

For about three months, I took the PR class and reviewed 1-3 hours every night. For the last month before my exam, my class was done and I probably spent 6-10 hours daily studying. I ended up with an 11 in BS. I think if you spend a few hours a day learning it for a few months and then devote two months to really work intensely, you'll be okay.
