nazzy19
Got my OOP interview invite by e-mail this morning! Bit of a surprise since i though it was going to be coming on the 15th, and i figure IP invites will still go out on the 15th. Good luck everyone! Thejuice
Does anyone know if they send out rejection e-mails? I seem to have gotten nothing from U of S at all and I'm OOP.

ccoh
I'll see if I can find out about cutoffs and rejection emails tomorrow. Last year it was 91, year before 90.5. I heard "about 90" in passing a few weeks ago, but I'll see if they'll tell me at the office tomorrow.

bladam
have any OOP's emailed sherrill to book an interview time and not had a response yet?
2012FTW
have any OOP's emailed sherrill to book an interview time and not had a response yet? I emailed her and have not had a response yet. I have a conflict on one of the two days so I hope she can confirm soon so I don’t have to worry that I will be booked on the day I can’t make it . tus
Is it possible to be over the cutoff and not get an interview? I'm OOP and I thought I was over the cutoff, but haven't heard anything yet.
vip_138
as far as my knowledge, its automatic, if you're above the cut-off you get an interview. I'ld call to make sure they/you calculated your gpa right.
ccoh
I think it took them a good two weeks last year to confirm the interview time, so if you've got a conflict, try calling. If you're OOP and made the cutoff and haven't received an invite, try calling too. Two best years have to be a full course load, ie 10 courses for the year (or 5 if your school has full year courses), even one course short won't count for that year. 2012FTW
I read the invite email again and it got me wondering.....it says in one part, "Please send your preference [for interview date] by Wednesday, February 13th" and near the end it says "Please acknowledge receipt of this notice and indicate any address changes no later than February 13"... I emailed indicating my interview time prefference...Seems like that would confirm receipt, but I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something important. ccoh
I would think that replying to interview preferences acknowledges receipt at the same time, but you can always send Sherrill another email. She's used to neurotic people lol, I bugged her incessantly last year
UofS2010
sorry to hear that aranndil, I wish you best of luck in your other applications!
chaserMD
I'm just curious about OOP status...does it matter once you're invited for an interview? I have interviews for Mac and NOSM, and I'm hoping that once they offer an interview, they can't hold geographical isolation against you! (Other than, of course, ignorance of the region...) Looking forward to a response!
ccoh
I can't speak for other schools, but U of S has a separate pool for OOP's. There are 6 spots, 40'ish interviewees (that's the number last year, not sure this year).
shawnkarls
I just got my rejection. Official cut off this year was 90.6. how did you get your rejection? cuz i havent gotten an interview invite (and im assuming i wont), but havent gotten any notice... and 90.6...ouch, had a 90.
chris
hi guys, is the cut-off mark for oop students just based on the last two years? What if I took more than 5 courses, will they only take the best 5? thanks!
ccoh
Best two years. Not sure about top 5 marks though. Think they used all my marks when they did the calculation last year and I had more than 5 courses.
kwasko@dal.ca
I asked about this to them this year because I took 6 classes in my last year, which was my best year. They said they would be counting ALL 6 classes, NOT my best five.
