Waitlisted vs. Rejected.

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering which is more common, to be waitlisted, or just rejected. If you were rejected, does this mean you did poorly on your interviews?

probably, since after you are given an interview the weight of your GPA and DAT scores dramatically decrease. All that's really left is your interview score.

Well that's odd because I got an interview to U of A last year, and wasn't even put on the waiting list. I was just rejected, but when I had requested my interview score, they said it was 26.5 out of 35 marks. I thought that was adequate to be at least on the list.

I thought gpa%=DAT%=interview

It depends on the school. Not all schools weigh everything equally. And just because you get an interview does not mean that your GPA and DAT scores don't count for as much. Using your GPA and DAT schools weed out applicants that do not meet their standards and then once all the various selection devices are obtained they review all the information together.

 May I ask you what your pre-requisite and cummulative GPA at that time? because I believe when they go through the applicants to determine whether who receives an interview or not, they are looking for individuals who qualify the minimum criteria and have at least passed the DAT portions that are essential towards admission.
