MillerTime
So ends up i read the times for the orientation session thing wrong, and only caught the last 10 minutes of the webcast (Q&A only). Can anyone fill me in on what was said during it? (ie. this written station that was referred to in the Q&A?) Or anyone know if it's available after the fact online to watch? Thanks a ton
keith_015
The session is only streamed live. You are out of luck to watch it again. The MMI is 12 stations: 10 oral, 1 written, 1 rest. You have 2 minutes before each to gather your thoughts, then 8 minutes to answer the questions. You will be given a piece of paper to write your thoughts on. Other than that, the presentations were by year 1 students talking about getting in on the 1st try, 2nd try (the reapplying student), special consideration entry, and why you would want to choose U of M. MillerTime
Awesome, so all I missed pretty much was the timing of the MMI and how it's setup (the 10 oral/1 written/1 rest station). Any reasons why to choose UofM that outweigh the coldass winters? I lived in winnipeg for 7 years before moving to ottawa, and although we've had 3 meters of snow this year, it still beats -40, hah (mind you i was in southeast asia until 2 weeks ago, giving me no right to complain about any winter this year, plus an appendectomy 3 weeks ago preventing me from shoveling any of the 3 meters of snow )
keith_015
Well, you've lived in Wpg before so you know what is all about. They just talked about the friendliness, multiculturalism, early exposure, research ability, student life. But yeah, like you I've been in Ontario albeit in Waterloo rather than Ottawa for almost 6 yrs now and would take a few days of shovelling over the -40 or worse windchills my parents have been telling me about. It is pretty interesting driving on the 401 with 1/2ft of snow with no plowed lanes and low traffic.
