bohemilove
I am currently finsihing up my undergraduate degree. I just decided that MEd school is a thing for me but my GPA are on the low sides since I never cared about it to begin with. Now I am thinking to get a second degree. Does anyone know how it works? Will the school look at my first degree as well or is my second degree will be sole determinant of the admission?
avenir001
some schools look at all postsecondary courses u've ever done (eg ubc, mac) but others only consider ur last/best 2-3 yrs (eg uwo, queens, dal) so if ur gpa from ur first degree is very low, u'd have a better shot at the latter group of schools. The Bunny
I did a second degree and had much success. Western will look at your last 2 years and a school like McGill will look at the big picture. PM me if you have any questions. Good luck
Citan
Ottawa uses the last three years you have done, with a greater emphasis on the last year and a lesser on the first.
bohemilove
I am thinking of doing a three year degree program again. So, does it mean that for OTTAWA U, I can only apply after I am completely finished with my degree, right? I really would love to go to MCMASTER but it seems like I have better shots at UWO,queens or DAL. Thanks everyone.
quebecrunner
Hi, I'm exacly in the same position than you. I've started since september a second degree and i will apply every year until i get in. I do not want to finish that second degree and i do hope that i will get in before i've complete it. bohemilove: Ottawa will look only at yout three last years and no, you dont have to finish the second one (if you finish the first one of course)
meek
Hi, I have a question in regards to how the gpa of the "last two years" is calculated. My first year was great, but I improved a bit in second year, and by third year my gpa was decent. However, during my last semester I took a first year into psychology course and managed to get a C+. When med schools look at the "last two years," do they look at 3rd and 4th year courses, or the actual courses I took in the last two years? Thanks!
