blond_med
I've been hearing all these rumors that it matters who you do your research with ... I mean if it's a professor from UofT or not and what title the prof has... I mean does he/she only have a PhD or is he/she also the dean/principle researcher for a center. Is this true? Does the title matter for the reference letters? I'd appreciate any feedback on your own experiences Thanks!
xeffect
I'm quite certain the most important thing they're looking for is the quality of the actual reference letter (i.e. how much the prof can say about you). A detailed letter from just a PhD prof would be better than a not-so-detailed letter from a PhD + Dean/priniciple researcher. That said, I have heard there may be advantages to getting references from MD's... maybe someone else knows more about this.
