hike2008
I'm wondering who has a parent who is a doctor? how has this influenced your decision to be a doctor? or do you have family friends who are doctors? did you mention this in your application? I have heard people say that it may not be a good thing because it means you can, theoretically, afford to head overseas for your med school ( i personally don't think this is true) i have a parent who is a doctor and one is a nurse, both have had a huge impact on why i would like to study medicine in terms of the work you do, the lifestyle and many other things that go along with it all. pepe
My mom is a nurse and I think that being around people who work in healthcare provides you with a more well rounded view of what it means to be a nurse or a doctor. For me, I think that my mom has shown me that anyone is capable of learning the science behind healthcare but it is personal aspect of looking after someone in their time of need that is the really beautiful aspect of healthcare. Charlatan
My mom was a nurse when I was growing up and is now a VP at a hospital. I have tonnes of healthcare related experiences as a result of her position. You are priviledged
