most chillaxed interview ever. however, make sure you go early. interviews are held before the tour. no need to prepare too much. just know yourself. carry a good conversation, and you'll be fine.

and if you get in, take the offer! don't be a stupid ass like me and choose another school :P

nyu is going to be a great school in the next 5 years. when you go there, you'll know what i'm talking about.

good luck!

Hmmm... relaxed eh? I think I can handle that. How many people are on the adcoms? Do they interview you in a group or what?

I'm so excited but I wonder why they're conducting interviews so late. I would have thought NYU would be filled by now. Helen told me this was the last week of interviews and they would really like to see me...? Hope I don't get waitlisted!

What school did you choose BTW CoolWater?

Expensive schools go right till the end. No need to worry. I'm sure they have spots open.

As for myself, I choose an equally expensive school, and it is not in Manhattan. Check up pre dents and you'll know.

The school is great, but not worth the cost. Oh, well, it's dental school---> nothing is perfect! :P

I got into NYU this year and accepted. We had a very extensive tour of the place and the school looks amazing (it also helps that the school is in the best city in the world :P lol). The interview was very relaxed. Some people I spoke with after the interview were just asked a series of your typical questions (why NYU, why dentistry, wouldn't you rather go to a Canadian school, tell me about yourself...). Personally, I think my interview was definitely more relaxed than some of the others...we just had a casual conversation for 15 minutes or so. Don't worry about it, it is very informal.

the interview was very relaxed, just conversation really. For the most part thought it seemed like I was being sold on the school which was kind of funny because I didn't even have a chance to say anything :D for almost 15 minutes. The interviewer was very friendly and made it a really enjoyable experience.

The tour is great! The facilities are very nice! Cost of living is really high! ...oh wait...that's not a positive:D

15 minutes for an interview? Seems a little too casual... but that really puts me at ease about going to NY on such short notice. Today was so crazy. I was running people through my little experiment at school and Helen from NYU admissions calls me and starts pressing me for an answer for an interview date next week. I seriously had 45 minutes to decide and call her back.

But I am headed out there on Wednesday from Calgary and staying until Friday (morning). At least I get to miss 2 days of classes which could be a good or bad thing. Haven't been on a flight since I was like 4. This is going to be some experience!

God dammit I'm rambling and its late.

had an interview in New York and got wait listed. I was joking around in the inteview and was very relaxed. I got interviewd by the dean of admissions and didn't know it until after. It is a great school, just friggin expensive.

Questions:

Strengths, weaknesses and what you would change about yourself

Why dentistry

Where do u see yourself in 10 years

How do you handle stress

Why NYU. That is a very important question for them.

Where do you plan to practice after? US or Canada

The reason they have interview so late is because of the number of seats and the price. Due to that they have a high turn over rate in terms of the number of people who dont accept the acceptance.
