I Got Uwo Interview Invitation!!!

Recommended Posts

What is your best two years gpa percentage-wise? If it's above 84.55 then it's no mistake! it seems that someone's percentage grade and gpa on a 4.0 scale can be very different. You made the RC cutoff, and that plus an 84.55 avg for your best two years is all you need for an interview!

Now go rock the interview!!

i am sure that i had 70s %wise gpa

Hmmm if you get in, then good for you. However, that makes UWO's selection process questionable with regard to well rounded applicants. Other qualified candidates with higher scores than you have been cut out of the interviews already...

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you though. Good luck!

This guy is just spamming. Ignore the post.

I'd agree, I doubt the DAT scoring has changed since I wrote it (it's also standardized test).

Of my fellow 1249 DAT writers, the number of people who scored a 9 on the PAT? 0. (0 actually scored below 10, 3 people scored a 10).

The number of people like Sonyador who scored a 6 on carving (or a 1,2,4,7,8,10,12,13,15,17,18,19,21,22,24,25,27,30)? Zero.

well, screw me i guess, cause i don't believe that UWO would give out an interview with those stats. i'm not trying to be condescending, but 2 scores below 10 in that DAT and a GPA of 3.13? if your GPA was offset by an AA of 23+ or something i would guess that there would be a chance, but an AA of 14??

Yeah I got to agree with dackmonkey, those scores are very very low and quite frankly if you only have 2 years of school and one of those was messed up enough to get you a 3.13, then chances are you're either not yet ready for dental school or you're not telling us the whole story. DAT scores that low are pretty appalling for an applicant who should at least be scoring >16 to be competitive academically. Since UWO doesn't use anything except RC and GPA, then perhaps you do have a chance if your GPA was much higher in 2 years than you posted, or your school reports percentage grades differently (again whole story please). But I have to admit if you read other threads regarding UWO interviews, highly qualified candidates have been rejected with RCs higher than 18 (myself included) and this thread does make them feel unfairly treated.

For the record, I don't think you're a troll. If you are then, I guess you got us and wasted everyone's time. Otherwise, good luck and if you do get into UWO dental promise yourself that you will not get GPAs/exam scores like you currently are. It will only reflect on your career.

When I first read this, I thought it was a joke. I still think it's a joke too, but I could be wrong. If you're really telling us the truth, and if you don't mind, why don't you just copy and paste the exact email interview invitation message the admission's committee sent you (minus your name of course)?

:P

I believe this guy. First off he has the reading cut-off.

UWOs interview selection process is very simple:

1. MAke the reading cut-off

2. Make the average cut-off

The only two things I am not sure about are:

1. Do they take the average of your best two years before the interview? Or you best year pre-interview and the best two post-interview?

2. Do bonus points for Honours or Masters degrees count pre or post-interview?

just because he/she manage to post the first part of the email doesn't mean its still not spam. maybe they did get an interview, and made a fake account to mess with people using an alias.

its so simple. watch.

ohhh i got an interview. my gpa is 3.17. my dat scores are bio - 13, chem - 12, rc - 19, aa - 15, carving - 9

here's the beginning of my email...

On behalf of the Admissions Committee of the Schulich Dentistry program at The University of Western Ontario, I am pleased to invite you for an interview in connection with your application for admission to the Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

The interview decision was based on a DAT reading comprehension sectional score of 18/30 in combination with the average of the applicant's most competitive academic years.....
