PommeC
Hi all, I was just wondering whether the acceptances on May 15, if received, are mostly conditional or firm and what would determine the nature of the offer. Particularly, has there been any case when current year GPA has lead to the withdrawal of a conditional acceptance? And would it be based on the average GPA for all the other applicants? I'm a little bit worried that one of my courses might affect the overall calculation of my cGPA (which is otherwise more than fine). I'm a fourth year student and have otherwise met all the prereqs for UT. I'm sure my GPA won't drop that much (and the course might not even be counted if they allow us to drop up to one full credit per year), but I'm just being a liiittle bit paranoid here This is what happens when you have a full month to kill and feel no motivation whatsoever to study for finals Thanks for feedbacks/comments! In_Valid
I'm in the same boat as you. I chose this elective this year (a history course). It was a 100 level course so it was supposed to be completely bird. It ended up being really hard. Needless to say, I am doing significantly better in my science courses. Blargh, I hate history. haha. I have the worst luck with electives.
babygoose
Yeah I'm wondering about current year gpa too! I'm also in 4th year, and this semester is not looking great. Overall I'm decent but this one cellular neurobiology course is NOT my thing (I hate cellular, I'm all systems), and I'm starting to worry about if I get waitlisted and how this year's gpa will influence the final decision for U of T. degoo_
Last year people were saying that as long as you meet the criteria for your degree, you are fine with UofT. Of course you don't want to take that as a free pass to do nothing, even though senioritis is hitting pretty hard right now. But I seriously doubt your offer of acceptance will get withdrawn if you get a 69 in a course. Even on the waitlist I don't think it matters that much. I imagine they have a waitlist order already established and unless the final marks are severely no keeping with your previous performance, you should be fine. For me, I was accepted on May 15th, and had two "lower" marks on my transcript.
