AndyDude
4.3 people per seat? That's encouraging actually. I thought it was much much more (I'd assume it's more competitive in Ontario)

I thought it was much much more (I'd assume it's more competitive in Ontario) I would think it would be less competitive, Ontario have more med schools in the province that most other provinces. It means there is less competition in province because if an Ontario student doesn't get into one school, they are most likely to get into one of the others. Unlike say British Columbia with has UBC to fullfill the needs of the entire province plus Vancouver.

Unlike say British Columbia with has UBC to fullfill the needs of the entire province plus Vancouver. According to this years OMSAS book, there were 18250 applications by 5872 applicants last year for 842 spots, giving a total of 6.97 applicants per spot. Admittedly, this was during the year when the double cohort was applying, but Ontario is by no means easy. Also, I think Ontario recieves a lot of applications from outside the province due to the fact that several of the schools don't discriminate appreciably based on the applicants region of origin. Figures are on page 10 here: http://www.ouac.on.ca/omsas/pdf/b_omsas_e.pdf
