Arnie
I'm wondering if anyone has looked into getting the Physician forms filled in (Tuberculin test, blood test, chest x-ray, etc). I've called many medical clinics, but they are all charging me >$120 to have the work done. They say that because it's a third-party request, OHIP won't cover it. I've also spoken to my Uni's Health Services, but they're surprisingly clueless on prices. Can anyone please make some suggestions on getting this paperwork filled out for rock bottom prices? Thanks. koft
Good luck, it is considered a third party physical. They used to charge $90 but it was 5 years ago. So $120 seems norm to me. OHIP doesn't cover third party physical. If you need it to go to school, just bite the bullet and pay for it. ________ FORD FG FALCON
Arnie
hey koft, I'm already doing just what you suggested. I went to visit the damned Health Services center at my school (they couldn't get their heads around this on the phone) and they told me the results for the blood-work will take roughly 3 weeks to get back if I'm lucky. I'd rather not wait. I'm just going to the next-door walk in clinic tomorrow and getting this stuff over with. It will be done in a few days maximum, but I'm still going for it--- even if it is costing me $140. This gives me the chance to get any mistakes corrected well before the due dates. AllSmiles
When is the due date for UT? For UBC we have to wait until July for them to send us the forms.

I know it sucks. of course, better to submit everything before the due date. As for the $140 it will be a minute portion of your overall cost of 4 years in dental school. less than 1/1000th of it. Sad but true. ________ List of chrysler vehicles history

Peaches
For U of T the deadline for submission for the med forms is Sept 1st, so you have plenty of time if you have yet to be accepted:)

That sounds odd: last year for the UWO requirements (chest x-ray, Hep-B status, etc) I just went to my family doctor and he sent me for a blood test and xray and there was no charge
kozmik
i just got my forms filled out today for UofT and my GP did it for free... she never even mentioned a charge for it... and since i had my immunization records from my pediatrician, i only needed my TB test... so it was quick and virtually painless
