youbrokeit
Any others making the move from Edmonton to Calgary? Are you renting/buying? When are you leaving? How long does it take to get credit/find a place/etc?
Michelle
I'm also making the move from Edmonton to Calgary and definitely renting. I'm heading down to Calgary next weekend to look at some places and leave my name in case any vacancies come up at the end of the month. I'd like like to find a place for July 1st so I can be all settled in by the time school starts....all I know for sure is that I'd like to be within walking distance of school. dinesh6
i am also making the move. I'd rather live on my own despite it being cheaper with a roommate. I've lived with my parents all my life, and for once, I just want to be selfish and worry about one person. It's tough, because I want to work in June and July, earn some money and maybe try out something really fun. BUT, I assume it will be tough to land a place to live near the university and med school if I don't make the move early. Any advice on finding places/booking an single apartment a couple of months in advance?
MoSquared
Hey guys, i am taking my undergraduate at the medical school right now, didnt get into med this year tho but there are a bunch of condo style housing right across the street of the med school that are going up for sale. Some of these places open up for rent around now when people finish their degrees and such, but most of them are for sale. They range from 200k-225k, but are four bedroom houses in amazing location. Considering you guys are willing to pay like 650-800 in rent, it might be even cheaper if you look into buying one of these with a mortgage and rent out the other rooms. Payments may be around the same amount as renting and I know for sure that 3-4 houses just went up for sale in the complex, so you can make money on the real estate and maybe room with some of your 2011 classmates. Just thought I'd let you guys know one option
