doneanddone
Hi all, Congrats to everyone who has (and will be) accepted. As a recent grad from the U of M's Faculty of Medicine, I just thought that I'd check out the forum for fun. I can vividly recall when I used to frequent these forums before I was accepted. It's nice to see how enthusiastic the accepted applicants are! The past four years were definitely eventful. You are going to meet some wonderful people and you are going to have some unique experiences. My biggest pieces of advice to you are to make sure that you have a couple of good friends that you can confide in and that you make time to de-stress. As you proceed through med school, it might become harder for some of you to hang on to your 'non-med' friends... do the best that you can to hold on to them, because it is so nice to have 'outsiders' with whom you can spend time! Believe me, the time will come when you will NEED to take you mind off of school. There might be times when you have second thoughts about the career paths that you have chosen; when that happens, try to recall how hard you worked to get here and the reason why you wanted to be in med. Lastly, as the title of thread implies, be nice to the med school! It treated me well and I know it will do the same for all of you. The four years will be up for all of you in the blink of an eye; trust me. Good luck
