Sutler
Does any med school consider grad students that just started their Masters? and will they accept these students if they only did 1 year of a 2 year Masters program? If so, which are these schools?
mcater2006
Unless you can finish your master's in one year, the answer is NO, you cannot apply in the year you just got into the program, I speak from my personal experience. I also heard something about med schools not recognizing one-year master's students as proper graduate students, but you should check with other ppl on this. Generally, when you apply in September of year n, then you had better make sure that you are able to finish your thesis and graduate in June of year n+1. I think all med schools want that as the condition of accepting you as a grad student.
jelly31
Interestingly though, in one of my interviews, the interviewer asked me, "And if you get in, what will happen to your Master's degree?" as if I had a choice but to be completely finished! Some schools may allow you to defer, but other schools such as UBC will drop your acceptance offer if you haven't finished your Master's by the deadline.
