TonesRN Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Hey,I keep hearing these rumors flying around! Does anyone know the factual truth of whether or not MCAT verbal is being used in the selection process now? Currently, the MCAT verbal portion wasn't required for 2008 entry. Will it be required for 2009 entry?? The factual answer is this: Who knows? It may be required or it may not be. I would keep checking McMaster's website in the next few months for any updates as this information is typically posted there. Alternatively, you could contact the school and find out your information directly from the source.
TonesRN Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Just saw this on Mac's website: Notice to potential applicants: The McMaster MD Admissions Committee continues to consider the introduction of a computer-based reasoning test for future admissions cycles. This will not be in effect for application in 2008/entry 2009.
dannyboy Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Does taking the MCAT help your application into McMaster? Or is it completely ignored in the selection process?
notERDoc Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Does taking the MCAT help your application into McMaster? Or is it completely ignored in the selection process? Short answer: no, it is ignored Longer answer: You don't even have to report it to OMSAS if you are only applying to mac (thus they will not get the scores), and students get accepted who have never written it, so the only conclusion is that they completely ignore it
