Waitlist Moving

Recommended Posts

Hey,

Just got an email today at 4:54 offering me a place at Waterloo Regional Campus. So I guess the waitlist is officially moving! I'm really happy/slightly in shock!

Here are my stats:

GPA 3.74, never wrote the MCAT as this was my first time applying.

Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Random question:

Did anyone else have a number written on the envelope that came with their wait list letter?

Mine had a number which was jotted in pen on the side. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything - it doesn't look official - but maybe someone at Mac slipped up and wrote my ranking?

Anyone else? Just me? I hate this part.......

Was the number less than say.. 150? and more than.. 20? (both RANDOM guesses as to how long the waitlist is, and how many have moved). Just curious too. The post office sometimes writes on the letters for the letter-carriers to know which "bundle" of letters it is since they sort them to make delivery easier.

The Number (yes it's capitalized) was 24. You're probably right though, I'm sure it was something from Canada Post.

Is it just me, or is every other song on the radio "Tired of Waiting" by The Trews??

The waiting game is making work incredibly inefficient.

Gotta love your screen name. That's clever. :P

Ahh, good ol' scrubs. :)

Dr. Jan Itor is still up for grabs. I believe its European, the 'J' is pronounced like a 'Y'.

(JD may or may not be my idol... if I ever get off this wait list I'm going to need a stuffed dog and a cool black roommate who can dance - I've got the awkwardly cool white kid role down pat!)

Long time lurker here...posting for the first time regarding the Mac waitlist. There hasn't been any word of movement for a while...does anyone know whether Mac sends waitlist offers in batches or in an ongoing manner? I'm starting to get a bit discouraged about my chances since there hasn't been any movement in a while...

Hi gd86,

I absolutely share your sentiment. But can I suggest that you don't get discouraged quite yet. I'm assuming it's an "every 2 week chunk" roll. So next time we'd hear should be this Friday or Monday (June 16). If no one posts on this forum saying they've heard on those dates, I would be surprised and then start getting discouraged that maybe the class is already filled up...

Namaste3... are you by any chance a non trad student?

I'm not too sure exactly what qualifies as a non-traditional student?

I graduated high school in 2003 (did OAC) and then went straight to McGill and did a 4 year degree (Bachelor of Arts and Science)... had to take one semester off due to illness... so I graduated in December 2007, instead of April. So when I start medical school I'll be 24. My cumGPA was 3.74, but 4.0 in my third and fourth years.

I'd say my extracurriculars were strong, 5 international experiences, quite a bit of research (but on the social side of health)... but then again, most people's ec's are pretty strong.

So - am I non-traditional?
