Namaste3
Hey, Just got an email today at 4:54 offering me a place at Waterloo Regional Campus. So I guess the waitlist is officially moving! I'm really happy/slightly in shock! Here are my stats: GPA 3.74, never wrote the MCAT as this was my first time applying. Good luck to everyone still waiting. medster
Just wondering how long you have to accept the offer from Mac? The quicker people get their responses back the more chances everyone has of getting their first choice!
Namaste3
They said we have until June 13th... I''ll be accepting right away as this was the only school I applied to.

Bittersweet
Any movement since the 30th? The west coast schools' waitlists are supposed to start moving again around June 13th. But alot of Ont. / east coast schools are slowly moving day by day???
Dr.Acula
Random question: Did anyone else have a number written on the envelope that came with their wait list letter? Mine had a number which was jotted in pen on the side. I'm sure it doesn't mean anything - it doesn't look official - but maybe someone at Mac slipped up and wrote my ranking? Anyone else? Just me? I hate this part.......
Bittersweet
Nope, no number on the envelope.

I hate this part....... Was the number less than say.. 150? and more than.. 20? (both RANDOM guesses as to how long the waitlist is, and how many have moved). Just curious too. The post office sometimes writes on the letters for the letter-carriers to know which "bundle" of letters it is since they sort them to make delivery easier. GeezLouise
Hi All, I second bittersweet's June 3rd request...can anyone say whether there has been waitlist movement since May 30th? I know it's only been 3-4 business days since, but my poor, impatient soul is going CRAZY! Thanks.

The Number (yes it's capitalized) was 24. You're probably right though, I'm sure it was something from Canada Post. Is it just me, or is every other song on the radio "Tired of Waiting" by The Trews?? The waiting game is making work incredibly inefficient. Dr.Acula
Ahh, good ol' scrubs. Dr. Jan Itor is still up for grabs. I believe its European, the 'J' is pronounced like a 'Y'. (JD may or may not be my idol... if I ever get off this wait list I'm going to need a stuffed dog and a cool black roommate who can dance - I've got the awkwardly cool white kid role down pat!) gd86
Long time lurker here...posting for the first time regarding the Mac waitlist. There hasn't been any word of movement for a while...does anyone know whether Mac sends waitlist offers in batches or in an ongoing manner? I'm starting to get a bit discouraged about my chances since there hasn't been any movement in a while...
GeezLouise
Hi gd86, I absolutely share your sentiment. But can I suggest that you don't get discouraged quite yet. I'm assuming it's an "every 2 week chunk" roll. So next time we'd hear should be this Friday or Monday (June 16). If no one posts on this forum saying they've heard on those dates, I would be surprised and then start getting discouraged that maybe the class is already filled up... gd86
Thanks for the encouraging words...I just hate the wait...wish they could tell us where we stand on the waitlist at least...that would provide some closure
Bittersweet
I agree. Not knowing is the worst. Other waitlists have been moving for weeks now!!?? I personally think that Mac waits until the 1st round waitlist offers / provisionals are in (June 13th). I would assume the list will start moving next Monday (16th). Ughhh! Namaste3
Namaste3... are you by any chance a non trad student? I'm not too sure exactly what qualifies as a non-traditional student? I graduated high school in 2003 (did OAC) and then went straight to McGill and did a 4 year degree (Bachelor of Arts and Science)... had to take one semester off due to illness... so I graduated in December 2007, instead of April. So when I start medical school I'll be 24. My cumGPA was 3.74, but 4.0 in my third and fourth years. I'd say my extracurriculars were strong, 5 international experiences, quite a bit of research (but on the social side of health)... but then again, most people's ec's are pretty strong. So - am I non-traditional?
Hopeful!
Should we be giving up hope if we haven't yet heard from Mac?
