llyw Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Heya Stryker, CONGRATS!!! Wondering, what time did you get your email? Thanks again, CONGRATS!
The Law Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Thanks for the update stryker (and Meredith in the other thread!), nice to see things are moving now. Out of curiousity, what time did you get the e-mail?
jelly31 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Cool, sounds like you were very high up on the WL!
stryker Posted June 2, 2008 Author Report Posted June 2, 2008 i got the email at about 9 something local time here (edmonton)...so 11 am over in queens
Alastriss Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 bah. I wish it were one big batch rather than a trickle.
wincojeff Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 well given the fact that i haven't heard yet, i'm hoping it was just a trickle adn not a big batch...
daryn Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I think this is seriously THE VERY WORST part of the already painful process. Between this and Western, I think I am going crazy. I really want to get into medicine, but the more this is dragging on the more I feel that medicine doesn't want ME.
Cheshire Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Oh yes it does. All you have to do to know that is work in a hospital or try to get a family doctor/specialist/whathaveyou. They seriously seriously need us. Its the schools that don't want us, and the government that didn't plan well and isn't doing enough drastic stuff to get us trained. I don't like it but I'm going to have to be in debt till I'm 50 just so I can get edumacated in Ireland and even then who knows if I can get back here. This waiting is painful BUT IT ISN'T YOU GUYS. If this country was right we would all be in (or mostly, I think). We're all good enough. Don't forget! (It would just be nice if we could get some positive feedback ONCE in a while.)
Alastriss Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Yeah but we pay in the end. We need more money. So why don't we stop exporting most of our crap to the recently economically wounded US and start selling our damn freshwater! BAHHHHHHHHHH ok im good now
Cheshire Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Is this slow trickle of WL movement usual from year to year? I was expecting a large sloppy helping of admissions yesterday or today. In previous years, how has the waitlist started moving (dates, numbers of admissions, etc)? If anyone has any knowledge, please share. I would like to set my expectations straight so I can save myself these little frequent emotional adventures (i.e. anticipation vs. checking my email and premed101 every couple hours).

kiwi Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Last year it took them until the end of June to fill the class, so it seems it moves quite slowly...they have to sort through everything as people continue to accept and decline their offers.
llyw Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 That's very good to know. Now I can get off of my computer, and just pray for the best! Thanks, and good luck to everyone!
worriedandwaiting Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I guess no one on premed101 heard back today? this is moving much slower than i imagined...
The_B Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Patiences people. In my class, people heard as late as August I believe (can't remember if there was anyone in September). The waitlist moves, steadily, not in a flood.
kaysersoze Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 hey guys, i'm happy to say that i was accepted off the waitlist on monday...i haven't been able to check my email for some time so i was surprised to see the offer....seeing as how i'm overseas for the summer i think i will have to cut my trip short to attend to the paperwork i have to complete..hang in there everyone and keep the faith
kaysersoze Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 thank you all very much...think positive and u'll be surprised at the results of what you thought was a so so interview
ChristinaS Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 I guess nobody on pm101 heard anything today in terms of waitlist movement? The wait continues... Congrats to all fo those who have gotten off the list so far!!
kiwi Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 Ah, I don't know why I keep checking...I don't think it's healthy for me to be working in an office with internet access. Maybe they are just going to send out once batch per week.
worriedandwaiting Posted June 4, 2008 Report Posted June 4, 2008 [quote Maybe they are just going to send out once batch per week. that would be uber-annoying.
