EmmaF
How well did you guys start off when doing the topic tests with Kaplan? I'm not doing to well on mine as of yet, and it kind of worries me.
gogopogo
I started off terribly. After really plugging away at it, I definitely see a big improvement. however when writing an aamc test I find the kaplan to be slightly more difficult. I also found that the kaplan tests were much harder in PS due to some pretty far-out calculations (this may be just me). If you haven't already, write one of the aamc tests, you may surprise yourself.
medisforme
yeah, kaplans PS and BS are way harder than aamc (especially PS - i agree some of the calculations for kaplans are not that realistic for this type of test). However, in my opinion, the aamc VR is a lot harder than kaplans so be wary on this point. ps. i think my first kaplans test score was 9,9,
redribbon
i seriously think there's something messed up with kaplan's scoring sheet. i got 16 wrong on the PS section in Kaplan 1, which comes to be about little more than 65% right, and they give me an 11. And then for verbal, I got 7 wrong which is about 81% or so, and they give me 9.
Jamer
If you have a background in sciences/a half decent intelligence (since 80% of the test is interpretting info anyway), you really shouldn't be doing that badly. It's natural to forget some things but getting <7 or even 8 is means for concern, especially if you've been studying for a while.
