futuredoc
For schools that require social sciences as a pre-req, does first year psychology satisfy the requirement?
fireball
Psychology is a social science so if what a school requires is a lower level social science, then yes, but if I were you I would call the specific schools that you are applying to, to verify the course Good Luck! RandomGuy
I'm in a science-based psychology program, so I was curious about this as well. I asked our advisor and she said that professional schools usually accept the classifications of the home department. For example, my department classifies courses in social psych, personality, etc. as "social science" and courses in neuroscience, behaviour, cognition, as "science". So apparently is can vary, even by school. But you don't want to get caught in some small prereq technicality, so I would also check with the med school.
