ontariostudent
Does anyone know where I can take an accelerated introductory Physics course in the summer (preferably in Ontario but I'll go elsewhere if the dates are right). If so, please post the dates if you know them! I'll need 6 credits.
w8kg6
University of New Brunswick offers a 3 month one. Hte lecture is 6 credit hours, and the lab (if you need it) is 4 credit hours. You can do one of these without the other.
ontariostudent
Anything shorter? I was hoping for something like 6 weeks. I know there are organic chem courses like that...
switcheroo
UManitoba has a couple first-year physics options running this summer (6 credit hours in approx. 6 weeks). Here's their summer session calendar: http://www.umanitoba.ca/summer/calendar/request/summer09.pdf

I checked for you in my neck of the woods - guelph and waterloo don't.
jigga5
You could do it via correspondence on your own time. Try: http://www.athabascau.ca/html/syllabi/phys/phys200.htm I know this is a general question but I was wondering if anyone can tell me how an online course at Athabasca compares to taking a regular course at a uni? Lets use physics for example.... the grading/difficulty compared to taking a regular course? And how do med schools see a distance course on application? disfavor, or they don't mind? ontariostudent
In case anyone comes across this thread in future years... Ryerson has some really good continuing ed physics courses. They run for about 6 weeks (for a half year credit) in the summer, and look pretty easy (very small class sizes too!). I almost took one but then decided to go to U of T so I didn't need it.
