Francophone Assessment in English Stream

Hey all,

 

Has any one been through the experience of being a declared French-speaking applicant to the English stream. How much of the interview is in French, if any, what sort of language skills are they expecting and what questions are they most likely to ask in French.

 

Any input would be much appreciated!

I applied to english stream and had my interview today and also declared myself as a bilingual applicant. However, I did not get a single question in French ! It seemed somewhat rushed as they were running on a tight schedule.

I think the most common event is that they say something like "I see that you have declared that you are bilingual in your application, so the next question will be asked to you in French and we would like you to respond accordingly"

 

So then you end up answering the question in French and then they would go back to English.

I have been interviewed twice in the French stream and both times they asked one question in English.

was the one question in french a shorter/easier type question? sometimes it's difficult to find the proper words in english, so i'm wondering how you found having to answer in your (presumably) second language
